A Wonderful New Feeling!

Thing's have been Good, Melody and the Pony have been getting along. Princess is really not what i expected, she is very head shy, more head shy then I have officially thought. We have been working on that, and she's getting to the point where she will let me touch her all over, but she still flinches as if she's just waiting for me to hit her which has be wondering of her past. She is a terrible hard to catch type of pony, oh my god is it frustrating but she has been getting better. I have been using different techniques and i have found that actually following her around she will eventually stop running from me and stand still for me to clip the lead, I do believe she is beginning to realize i will not give up!

I had started riding Melody a month ago, this summer has been to hot so I gave riding her some more time of. But she is doing fantastic, the same good mare I had before having my son. There is some thing i myself as a rider need to work on, but my balance is good, i can ride with confidence and i no longer use my horn as a crutch to hold on while trotting/cantering. It feels great and i can't wait to start working her more this fall when things are cooler, my ultimate goal this fall and winter is to start riding twice and week maybe even three times a week if i can!

My son is getting so big, he's almost 7 months old and such a big boy. 19lbs 1oz, and 27 in long. He can wear 12m clothing, it's crazy how fast he has grown.

Starting fall classes tomorrow, not quite ready but to late to back out.

We also now have to official Barn cats, Tabby and Samantha!

A Happy Monday With Princess!

I went and saw Princess on Monday, the owner let me spend time with her, which is great because I want to know her personality more. She's very friendly, laid back, a bit shy but that's understandable. I'm a tall person, and she dose not know me very well yet. We worked on picking up all four of her hooves, cleaning them, she could care less which is awesome since cleaning hooves is my least fave job. She cross-ties very well, stands still. I groomed her, and just rubbed my hands all over her to get a feel for how she does.

I can't wait to have her home in my own barn, I have so many things i want to get started on. I defiantly want to see how Melody does, I'm praying they get along but I'll take it slow.

It's been raining everyday so i haven't been able to ride Melody yet. I'm itching to see how we do this year, I really want to start riding her two times a week to get her back in riding shape, but this weather needs to get better. The paddock is a mess, I have projects for the barn needing to be done but until it drys up i don't see that happening.

My Son and My new Pony Princess!

I haven't updated in quite a while, life got ahead of me as usual. My son was born Jan 27th at 10:13pm weighing 8lbs, 7oz, 22 1/2 in long. He was healthy and screaming, telling everyone of his entrance into the world. He is now three months old and so handsome. He has been teething lately so he has been a bit upset but otherwise always in a good mood and smiling. I think he is going to crawl early, he shows signs of wanting to. Being a mommy is the best thing ever in the whole world.

I'm also getting a 12 year old mini/Shetland pony mare sometime in the next few days, maybe this weekend if the lady can trailer. She's so sweet and beautiful, i can't wait to bring her home to meet melody. I'm hoping the two hit it of and become good friends. She's a bit head shy but nothing i cannot handle. She's not broke but that dosent matter to me, I'd rather have a sweet natured pony. I want to work with Melody and get her muscles back that she lost from being of, don't really need two riding horses.
